Jesus Speaks to us

• Both religious and non-religious people are called toward self-examination, compassion, wisdom, and responsibility.

The message to Christians emphasizes:

• unity beyond denominations,
• love together with truth,
• avoiding religious competition and pride,
• and living the teachings of Christ through mercy and justice rather than mere worship language.

The message to Hindus emphasizes:

• compassion beyond ritual,
• overcoming caste and superiority,
• dharma expressed through justice and human dignity,
• and spirituality as victory over ego rather than over other people.

The message to Muslims emphasizes:

• mercy over fear,
• spirituality over control,
• compassion over anger,
• dignity for women and vulnerable people,
• and rejecting hatred and coercion in the name of religion.

The message to non-religious people emphasizes:

• not confusing human failure with the failure of truth itself,
• avoiding arrogance in criticism of religion,
• combining compassion with wisdom,
• resisting ideological hatred,
• and recognizing that truth and love must remain united.

Overall, the vision presented is deeply ethical and spiritual rather than sectarian. It imagines Jesus calling every community toward:

ഈ ചിന്തകൾ ഇന്നത്തെ കേരളത്തിൽ വിവിധ സമൂഹങ്ങളോടു — ക്രിസ്ത്യാനികൾ, ഹിന്ദുക്കൾ, മുസ്ലിംകൾ, മതവിശ്വാസമില്ലാത്തവർ — യേശുക്രിസ്തു സംസാരിക്കുന്നതായി സങ്കൽപ്പിക്കുന്നവയാണ്. ഇവയുടെ കേന്ദ്രസന്ദേശം ആന്തരിക പരിവർത്തനം, കരുണ, വിനയം, സത്യം, മനുഷ്യഗൗരവം എന്നിവയെ ചുറ്റിപ്പറ്റിയതാണ്.

ഈ നാലു സന്ദേശങ്ങളിലുടനീളം ഒഴുകുന്ന പ്രധാന ആശയങ്ങൾ ഇവയാണ്:

• മനുഷ്യഹൃദയത്തെ മാറ്റുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ മതത്തിന് യഥാർത്ഥ അർത്ഥമില്ല.
• കരുണയും നീതിയും ഇല്ലാത്ത ആരാധനകളും ആചാരങ്ങളും സിദ്ധാന്തങ്ങളും മതപരമായ തിരിച്ചറിവുകളും മതിയാകില്ല.
• അധികാരത്തെയും അഭിമാനത്തെയും മതമത്സരങ്ങളെയുംക്കാൾ സ്നേഹവും ദയയും വിനയവും ക്ഷമയും സേവനവുമാണ് പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ടത്.
• ഭയം, വിദ്വേഷം, ജാതിവിവേചനം, മേൽക്കോയ്മാഭിമാനം, രാഷ്ട്രീയ തീവ്രവാദം, നിയന്ത്രണവാഞ്ഛ — ഇവയൊക്കെയും യഥാർത്ഥ ആത്മീയതയെ ദുഷിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.
• മതമോ ആശയപ്രസ്ഥാനമോ “സത്യം” തന്നെയോ ഉപയോഗിച്ച് മനുഷ്യരെ അപമാനിക്കാനും കീഴടക്കാനും ശ്രമിക്കരുത്.
• ദുർബലരോടും ദരിദ്രരോടും സ്ത്രീകളോടും കുട്ടികളോടും അന്യരോടും അഭിപ്രായവ്യത്യാസമുള്ളവരോടും മനുഷ്യർ എങ്ങനെ പെരുമാറുന്നു എന്നതിലാണ് യഥാർത്ഥ ആത്മീയത വെളിവാകുന്നത്.
• പുറംപ്രകടനങ്ങളെയും മതചിഹ്നങ്ങളെയുംക്കാൾ ആന്തരിക പരിവർത്തനത്തിനാണ് പ്രാധാന്യം.
• മതവിശ്വാസികളായാലും മതവിശ്വാസമില്ലാത്തവരായാലും എല്ലാവരും ആത്മപരിശോധനയിലേക്കും കരുണയിലേക്കും ജ്ഞാനത്തിലേക്കും ഉത്തരവാദിത്തത്തിലേക്കും വിളിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.

ക്രിസ്ത്യാനികൾക്കുള്ള സന്ദേശം പ്രത്യേകിച്ച് ഊന്നിപ്പറയുന്നത്:

• സഭാവിഭാഗങ്ങൾക്കപ്പുറമുള്ള ഐക്യം,
• സ്നേഹത്തോടൊപ്പം സത്യവും,
• മതമത്സരവും ആത്മീയ അഹങ്കാരവും ഒഴിവാക്കൽ,
• ആരാധനാഭാഷകളിൽ മാത്രം അല്ല, കരുണയിലും നീതിയിലും ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ ഉപദേശങ്ങൾ ജീവിക്കൽ.

ഹിന്ദുക്കൾക്കുള്ള സന്ദേശം ഊന്നിപ്പറയുന്നത്:

• ആചാരങ്ങൾക്കപ്പുറമുള്ള കരുണ,
• ജാതിവ്യവസ്ഥയും മേൽക്കോയ്മാഭിമാനവും അതിജീവിക്കൽ,
• ധർമ്മം നീതിയിലും മനുഷ്യഗൗരവത്തിലുമാണ് പ്രകടമാകേണ്ടത്,
• മറ്റുള്ളവരെ ജയിക്കുന്നതല്ല, സ്വന്തം അഹങ്കാരത്തെ ജയിക്കുന്നതാണ് ആത്മീയത.

മുസ്ലിംകൾക്കുള്ള സന്ദേശം ഊന്നിപ്പറയുന്നത്:

• ഭയത്തേക്കാൾ കരുണ,
• നിയന്ത്രണത്തേക്കാൾ ആത്മീയത,
• കോപത്തേക്കാൾ ദയ,
• സ്ത്രീകൾക്കും ദുർബലർക്കും മാന്യത,
• മതത്തിന്റെ പേരിലുള്ള വിദ്വേഷവും ബലപ്രയോഗവും തള്ളിക്കളയൽ.

മതവിശ്വാസമില്ലാത്തവർക്കുള്ള സന്ദേശം ഊന്നിപ്പറയുന്നത്:

• മനുഷ്യരുടെ പരാജയത്തെ സത്യത്തിന്റെ പരാജയമായി തെറ്റിദ്ധരിക്കരുത്,
• മതവിമർശനത്തിൽ അഹങ്കാരം ഒഴിവാക്കുക,
• കരുണയും ജ്ഞാനവും ഒരുമിപ്പിക്കുക,
• ആശയപരമായ വിദ്വേഷത്തെ ചെറുക്കുക,
• സത്യവും സ്നേഹവും ഒരുമിച്ചിരിക്കണം എന്ന് തിരിച്ചറിയുക.

മൊത്തത്തിൽ, ഈ ദർശനം മതവിഭാഗകേന്ദ്രിതമല്ല; അതീവ നൈതികവും ആത്മീയവുമാണ്. യേശു എല്ലാ സമൂഹങ്ങളെയും വിളിക്കുന്നത്:

• മേൽക്കോയ്മയ്ക്കുപകരം വിനയത്തിലേക്ക്,
• വിദ്വേഷത്തിനുപകരം കരുണയിലേക്ക്,
• നിയന്ത്രണത്തിനുപകരം സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യത്തിലേക്ക്,
• ശൂന്യമായ ആചാരങ്ങൾക്ക് പകരം ആന്തരിക പരിവർത്തനത്തിലേക്ക്,
• വിഭജനത്തിനുപകരം പങ്കിട്ട മനുഷ്യత్వത്തിലേക്ക്.

ഈ ചിന്തകളിലുടനീളം ആവർത്തിച്ചു വരുന്ന കേന്ദ്ര ആശയം ഇതാണ്:

യഥാർത്ഥ ആത്മീയതയുടെ അളവുകോൽ മതപരമായ തിരിച്ചറിവല്ല; സ്നേഹത്തിലും കരുണയിലും സത്യത്തിലും വിനയത്തിലും നീതിയിലും മനുഷ്യഹൃദയം രൂപാന്തരപ്പെടുന്നതാണ്.
